But a new study shows that it’s also produced positive results. A collaboration between the University of Michigan and Harvard University, the study found a correlation between home demolitions and a decrease firearm violence.

In June, estimated not seasonally adjusted construction unemployment rates fell nationally and in 40 states and increased in 10 on a year-over-year basis, according to an Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) analysis of U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics data. For the second month in a row, all 50 states posted construction unemployment rates of less than 10%.
