Through a release, the groups note that the partnership will be mutually beneficial and will have “a significant impact on the safety and well-being of workers in the demolition industry and the successful completion of U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) projects.”

Demolishing homes in Detroit decreases gun violence, says U-M study

From detroit.curbed.com. The study found an 11 percent drop in homicides and injuries caused by firearms in areas with demolitions. Detroit’s demolition program has faced its share of criticism. But a new study shows that it’s also produced positive results. A collaboration between the University of Michigan and Harvard University, the study found a correlation between home demolitions and a decrease firearm violence.
